At Cake First Then Cardio, we bake the kind of homemade treats that make your sweet tooth do a happy dance—frosted, fancy, or delightfully plain. Our no-fuss ordering system lets you turn dessert dreams into reality, whether you’re feeding a crowd or just dodging the treadmill one bite at a time.
First timer? Here's what to do.
Step 1. Click ORDER NOW, fill the form, and submit. This will NOT be where you'll find your total.
Step 2. Watch your email! You'll receive an invoice. Changes to your order can still be made at that point.
Step 3. Tickle the palm!
** Please note that payment is due 10 days before your date needed. Orders over $100 require a 50% deposit upon day of receiving invoice.**
Delivering to your student
Let's get down to business. (Hoping you sang that when you read it. #mulan)
Delivery day is selected in your form. Your student/a roommate MUST be home in order to deliver. If they're in a dorm, they have to be present. If you want it to be a surprise, coordinate with your student/roommate for a smooth process.
Your student will be texted the day before when to expect their delivery and where to meet if needed. They'll be texted day of updates 5-10 minutes before arrival.
You'll be sent a picture of your order the day before delivery.

Because a lot of our deliveries go to the Ames area, delivery prices shown on the order form are for Ames only but not limited to there!
We deliver to the surrounding areas (including but not limited to) such as Nevada, Huxley, Ankeny, Gilbert, Roland, Maxwell, Cambridge, Boone, Madrid, Luther, Polk City, Alleman, Slater, Midvale, Jordan, and Kelley too! Please be aware there will be an added delivery charge if we are delivering outside the 15 mile radius from our physical address in Nevada.
The order form will prompt you to fill in the recipient's phone number if you won't be the one to receive the order. We MUST be in contact with the recipient to ensure a smooth delivery process so please fill in their phone number! (If you want it to be a surprise, put in a friend/family member's name and number in the order form. That way they can receive the order and your surprise will be safe!)

I got my invoice, now what?
Our address is not on Google, you'll be given that information beforehand. We'll be in touch as needed, otherwise we'll see you when you pick up your order!

When will my weekday delivery order be delivered?
We understand everyone's schedule is different and can be a mess. Ours is too. Full disclosure, our=my, we=me. It's only me running this bakery and every second counts, including seconds on the road.
In order for "us" to be on the ball and get back to baking, the delivery window (time frame) STARTS at 7:30am. That means depending on how many deliveries we have to take that day, yours could arrive at 7:30am, 7:47am, 8:03am, 8:12am... you get it.
We will always reach out to you and, if necessary, your order recipient the day/night before to let them know what to expect. They will also be updated on when their order will arrive via text the day of.
If you're ordering for someone else, you will also be notified of any delivery issues. You'll also get a picture of your order the day/night before!
